Mass of Christian Burial  at St. John the Baptist

 

FUNERALS DURING THE TIME OF PANDEMIC

Funerals may be held in the Church and as always arrangements will be made through the Funeral Director

 

The Church is at 50% capacity (every other pew) and Masks are mandatory

There is no offertory procession at this time

 

Holy Communion is to be received in the hand and masks should be worn in the procession until it is time to receive.  After receiving Communion please place your mask back on and return to your pew following the directional arrows in church.

 

LITURGY PLANNING

 

You and your deceased loved one are in prayers of the clergy, staff, and parishioners and at the masses.   

In planning the Funeral mass, below are the reading selections to be made -
-First reading (Old Testament)

-Second reading ( New Testament)

-Gospel Reading 

-Prayers of the faithful, and
-Liturgical hymns
-Livestreaming option

 

Please choose friends or family members for the readings.  The priest will meet with the readers before the Funeral Mass begins.
