What is PREP and can we enroll?
Yes! PREP is open to parish (registered) Catholic families with children that baptized, are attending public school and would like their children to become fully initiated Catholics, receiving the sacraments of Penance, Holy Eucharist, and Confirmation in their PREP formation years. Instruction is based on Catholic teaching, scripture and tradition.
Level 1 begins at age 6, in Grade 1, and continues through Level 7; we welcome students with Special Needs. Two years of Preparation is required for students preparing to receive the Sacraments of Penance and Holy Eucharist. Generally children that receive First Communion are Level 2 (Second Grade) and Confirmation is conferred by the Bishop in Level 7 (7th Grade). Children that are not baptized may also join and would matriculate; and transfer students from Catholic School or other programs are welcome. Please contact us as soon as possible.
When is PREP held?
As Catholics the source and summit of our faith is in Holy Eucharist at the Mass. Therefore, PREP begins with all families attending 9:00 AM Mass on Sundays, and when Mass concludes students assemble in church and head to their classes. Dismissal from PREP is at 11:30 AM.
Can I Enroll my Preschool Age Children?
Yes!
Registered parish families with young children (Pre-K, K) who would like to attend or have other children in PREP are encouraged to enroll. Although enrollment does not apply toward Parish Religious Education or sacramental preparation, we encourage you to add your preschooler / Kindergartener on the Registration, or fill out one form if an only child.
All 7th Grade & Older parish students are invited to join us for our Youth Group!
(Post-Confirmation Youth Group is 7th-8th Grade Level Students that are fully initiated and received the sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist, Confirmation as Catholics.)
